Welcome to the registration site for Above the Rim Youth Basketball and Cheer.

Above The Rim youth basketball and cheerleading is an instructional program where players are taught age-appropriate skills of basketball and fundamentals of cheerleading and learn character traits through Christ-centered devotionals, all in a spirit of fun and encouragement. FORMAT
Players are assigned to teams in their age group. The currently scheduled age groups are: Kindergarten (MUST BE IN KINDERGARTEN) & 1st grade (co-ed), 2nd & 3rd grade boys, 2nd & 3rd grade girls, 4th through 6th grade boys, and 4th through 6th grade girls.. Cheerleading will be offered to K-6th grade cheerleaders.

Availability by league is limited. Each division will have the following limits. No holds will be granted; registrations must be completed to guarantee a spot:

Kindergarten - 1st grade (coed): 120
2nd - 3rd grade boys: 140
2nd - 3rd grade girls: 60
4th - 6th grade boys: 80
4th - 6th grade girls: 40

EQUIPMENT
Each player should wear comfortable indoor sports shoes and shorts. Jerseys will be provided by the league.

SCHEDULE
Practices are scheduled by the coaches once a week on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Practices are 45 minutes long and will be held at 5:30 / 6:15 / 7:00/ 7:45.

Our K-1 leagues will practice on a rotating schedule to be announced. K-1 teams will be assigned 2 time slots which will rotate after half of the season.  Example: If your team is given the 5:30/7:45 time slot then for half of the season (4 weeks)  they will practice at 5:30pm.  The last 4 weeks of our season they will practice at 7:45. The opposite is true.  If you are assigned to a 7:45 time slot, then after halfway through you will switch to the 5:30 practice time.  Teams can also be assigned to the 6:15/7:00 time slot.  This ensures that everyone gets home at a decent time and is not out late 8 weeks in a row.

Cheer will be on Mondays and Wednesday nights from 6:00-6:45pm.

Games are played on Saturdays.

Cheer Camp will be January 4, 12-4pm

Uniform Fittings
October 12, 12-3pm
October 26, 4-7pm

DATES
Winter session registration begins October 1, 2024.

DEADLINES FOR REGISTRATION:  Basketball- DECEMBER 1 / CHEER- NOVEMBER 1

Winter 2025: Practices begin January 6, 2025. First game is January 18, 2025. Last game and awards day is March 8, 2025.

FEES
A child’s registration is not complete until the fees are paid in full. Fees are $125 for each child K-6th grade. Cheerleading cost is $125 as well. Families will pay for the first 2 children; any children beyond that, in the same family, are at no additional charge. Partial scholarship help may be available if finances are tight; please contact the church office or email samantha.abovetherim@gmail.com to complete a request form and discuss the need. All payments must be made on the registration site.

REGISTRATION
Winter registration opens October 1, 2025. We invite you to register as soon as possible, due to demand. It is also necessary for all returning participants, players and coaches, to register prior to each season.
